The AAAA represents the interests of the automotive parts, accessories, tools and equipment industry and has been doing so since 1980. In a general sense, whether it is the performance and racing, 4x4, service or replacement parts, accessories, tools & equipment or light commercial vehicle sector, AAAA represents industry on over 40 Government and Standards committees. In regards to government policy, regulations or free trade agreements, the AAAA will continue to vigorously represent members interests wherever and whenever needed.
The AAAA represents the automotive aftermarket industry before federal, state and local governments and other regulatory bodies. The AAAA actively participates in more than 20 Standards Australia committees, liaises with international automotive aftermarket industry associations and attends major international automotive aftermarket events.
The AAAA has launched two special interest groups dedicated to prominent sectors in the Australian automotive aftermarket. The first launched in late 2005 was the Performance, Racing and Tuning Council〔(Performance, Racing and Tuning Council website )〕 and in November 2006, the Australian 4WD Industry Council〔(The Australian 4WD Industry Council website )〕 was launched. The Performance, Racing and Tuning Council and the 4WD Industry Council were formed as sub-councils of the AAAA to initiate activity and representation on performance and 4WD issues predominately with regulators and other key stakeholders. Membership of these councils is restricted to member businesses involved in the performance or 4WD sectors.
